My very first decent digital 100% painting. Don Seegmiller's Figure Painting workshop is a perfect occasion for a big departure from my usual 3D renders.

The Sphinx had the face and chest of a woman, the feet and tail of a lion, and the wings of a bird. She sat on Mount Phikion and asked the Thebans a riddle:
"What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs at noon, and three legs in the evening?"
Each time the Thebans gave a wrong answer, she ate one of them.

I had this one under work for a long time. I just couldn't get the atmosphere and lighting as I had them in mind.
Now for the standard disclaimer : save for the straw hat, I used pre-made models both free and bought from multiple sources online (Daz3D, Sixus, Renderosity).
The composition, lighting, texturing and touch up work with both Painter and Photoshop are mine however. The initial scene was rendered with Vue Infinite.
This is the first image I made that I feel is ready for the srutiny of this forum.
